ASME B30.5

Mobile and Locomotive Cranes

Construction, inspection, testing and operation of mobile cranes. A piping supervisor is not the appointed person and does not select the crane, but works to the outputs of this standard every day: the load chart and what derates it, outrigger and ground-bearing requirements, and the conditions — wind, visibility, unplanned load — under which a lift must stop. Knowing which of those belongs to the operator and which to the supervisor is the practical point.

This is an explanation, not the standard. AlpineTutor is not affiliated with ASME and reproduces no part of the document. Always work to the current edition of the standard itself and to your project specification.
