Privacy policy

Short version: reading this site is anonymous. We hold personal data only for people who have bought something, and only what is needed to give them what they paid for.

Reading the free site

No account, no sign-up, no tracking. We run no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking scripts on the free tutorials. Search runs in your browser — the index is downloaded and queried locally, so what you search for is never sent to us.

The one thing stored on your device is your light or dark theme preference, kept in your browser and never transmitted.

If you buy something

We hold:

  • Your email address — the account is keyed to it and it is how we reach you.
  • Your name, and the name you want on a certificate, which you can edit.
  • A hash of your password. We never hold the password itself and cannot recover it.
  • What you bought, when, and when access ends.
  • Assessment attempts and scores, and any certificate issued.
  • Sign-in attempts, kept briefly to block password guessing.

Payment details

We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled by Razorpay, who process them under their own privacy policy and the applicable payment regulations. What reaches us is confirmation that a payment succeeded, its reference, and the email address it was made with.

Why we hold it

To give you access to what you bought, to mark an assessment, to issue and verify a certificate, and to answer you when you write to support. Nothing is collected speculatively.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
  • We do not share it for advertising or profiling.
  • We do not send marketing email you did not ask for.

Certificate verification

A certificate carries a verification link so an employer can confirm it is genuine. That page shows the name on the certificate, the course and the date — nothing else, and no contact details.

How long we keep it

Account and purchase records are kept while the account exists and afterwards where tax and accounting rules require it. Certificates and their verification records are kept indefinitely, which is what makes a certificate checkable years later.

Cookies

The free site sets no cookies. Signing in sets a single session cookie so the app knows it is still you; it is not used for tracking and ends when the session does.

Your rights

Write to support@alpinetutor.com from your account address to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to have the account deleted. Deleting an account ends access to anything bought and is not reversible.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Purchased course content is held outside the public web root and served only to a signed-in account with a live entitlement — it has no public address at all.
