Terms and conditions

These terms cover the use of AlpineTutor, operated by Alpine Industrial Services. Using the site means accepting them.

What this site is

AlpineTutor publishes tutorials on engineering specifications. The tutorials are free to read, without an account. Separately, we sell guided course pathways and question packs, which require an account and a purchase.

Educational use only

Everything here is written to teach. It is not engineering advice for a specific job, and it does not replace a code, a standard, a project specification or a qualified engineer. Always design, build and inspect to the current edition of the governing document and to your project specification. We are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of material read here.

Standards and trade marks

Codes and standards named on this site remain the property of their publishing bodies. We reproduce no part of any standard. Pages explaining a standard are our own description of what it covers, written to help a reader understand why they would pick it up. AlpineTutor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to API, ASME, IEC, ISO, NACE, ISA or any other publishing body, nor to Saudi Aramco or any other operator.

Certificates

A Certificate of Completion records that you worked through a pathway on this site and passed its assessment. It is not a professional qualification, it is not accredited, and it does not license or authorise anyone to perform, certify or approve any engineering work. Certificates issued remain verifiable and do not expire, even after access to the course has ended.

Accounts

An account is personal. Do not share sign-in details, and tell us if you think someone else has them. We may suspend an account being used by several people at once, or used to copy and redistribute paid material.

Paid access

A purchase gives access to that product for three months from the date of purchase, with no limit on use inside that period. Buying the same product again adds to the time remaining rather than replacing it. Prices are in INR and are shown before payment. See refunds and cancellations.

Copyright

The tutorials, questions, explanations, diagrams and photographs on this site are our own work and remain our property. Read them, learn from them, link to them, quote a line with attribution. Do not republish them, resell them or feed the paid material to anyone who has not bought it.

Availability

We try to keep the site up and correct, but we do not guarantee it is uninterrupted or free of error. If you find something wrong, tell us — corrections are published, and notes exists partly for that purpose.

Changes

These terms may change. The date below is when the current version took effect. Material changes affecting something you have already bought will not be applied retrospectively to that purchase.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes fall to its courts.

About

Plain-language tutorials on engineering specifications — piping, materials, welding, structures, electrical and instrumentation — for process plants, infrastructure and manufacturing.

About AlpineTutor and our founder

Content here is for learning. Always design and build to the current edition of the governing code and to your project specification — not to a tutorial.
